Beauty and the Beast...

Because Romance is Magic!

- - Special Announcement - -

For SorcererCon 2010, there will be a costume contest in place of a full Masquerade, since the convention is small but growing steadily. This contest will be a venue for all costumers to show off their craft in a light-hearted and fun atmosphere.

Anyone interested in participating will be asked to show up at the Board Room at 10:00am to sign up and be given a number. Workmanship judging will be done at 6:30pm in the Atrium Courtyard and is entirely optional. You don’t have to have a close look taken at your costume if you do not wish it, but if you opt out you’ll not be in the running for a workmanship prize.

Each entry will have approximately 30 seconds on stage to strut their stuff before a panel of judges. Groups of 3+ people will have 60 seconds. No presentation will be allowed more time than that. If you have a choreographed routine that needs to have its own music, please bring it with you in two formats: CD and a USB stick. Otherwise, entrants will be going across the stage to regular background music with details of your costume announced by the MC.

The Masquerade will start at 8:00pm in the Atrium Courtyard and last approximately two hours from start to finish, including the judging time and the awards presentation. Prizes will be given for youth costuming, presentation, and workmanship. Categories for costumes will be youth, novice, and open.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Radar at jenniferwylie@yahoo.com
